What food or drink do you love when it's cold out? (Recipes and recommendations, please!)
I really enjoy a Starbucks pumpkin spice latte when it's cold in the autumn seasons. Around the holiday season, I also enjoy their gingerbread spice latte. The flavors of these drinks are subtle with a corresponding sweetness that doesn't overwhelm the palate, and the warmth of the beverages carries me through my post-Thanksgiving annual shopping.
As far as food goes, I have fond memories of having hot, steamed chestnuts wrapped in a paper cone while shopping during Christkindlesmarkt as a teenager in Germany. The shell peels away, leaving a warm, chewy nugget of delicious joy. I've yet to find such a street vendor here in the U.S.... maybe in New York City?
Update @ 10:11 am - I thought of another food item that really makes me happy when it's cold outside... potato soup! I don't have a recipe so I usually go to Panera. They also serve a delicious chicken and wild rice soup.

[this is good] Those are my two favorite Starbucks beverages also. The aroma is autumn and the holidays and everything that is good about them.
